The Map Project – Barnsley, England

Hello I am Kieran. I am 13 years old. Hockey is by far my most favourite sport in the whole world. My favourite hockey team is the Calgary Flames. In the winter, I also like to downhill ski.  During the summer, I love to spend time at our cottage at the lake.  I like to fish with my dad.  I am an avid reader. My favourite book series is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I have known Eeva for as long as I can remember. I know Eeva because she is my mom’s best friend. I am very ecstatic to write on Eeva’s blog!

At this moment Eeva is in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. Yorkshire is a northern region in England and the city Barnsley is in the south-east area in Yorkshire. Located near Barnsley is the famous Wentworth castle. Inside of the castle is a college called the northern college for residential and community growth. Some points of interest from Barnsley are Cannon Hall, Wortely Hall, Cannon Hall Farm, and the Monk Bretton Hall. For a bit of history, Barnsley is a former industrial town. It focused on coal mining and glass making. The last factories were shut down in the late 1900’s. Barnsley currently has a population of 81,251.

I think Eeva is going to have a great time in Barnsley with all of the things to see and do. I think it is a great place to be when you travel to England.
