SUNDAY’S SPECIAL SPOT – EASTER ISLAND

,

An isolated island on the eastern edge of the South Pacific, Rapa Nui presents a mystery on it soil. Towering monoliths pepper the quiet rolling hills of this eerily alien land. A testimony to the determined people who carved this incredible and massive moai. A testimony of beliefs? Ancestors? That question piques my interest in the infamous Easter Island. And how these massive carvings were places and erected adds to the question. Archaeologists have learned much yet it is only speculation. When I think of seeing this unique Polynesian Island, a special territory of Chile, I expect that I will be in awe.
