The Map Project – Dubai

Next on The Map Project is Kieran telling us about Dubai, an oasis in the desert. Thanks Kieran!

Hello it’s Kieran writing another blog post to tell you about Eeva’s wonderful travels around the world.

Dubai is an amazing city it. Is one of the largest but also one of the most advanced in technology and one of the wealthiest cities as well. Here are some pretty mind blowing fact about this city. Firstly, Dubai has a 0% crime rate. Talk about a safe city, It is the safest city in the world! Secondly, no person has to pay taxes to the government so you could save a whole lot more money than everyone else in the country. Thirdly , Dubai is the lucky home of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest man-made structure ever!! It stands a mind boggling  2,717ft. Eeva did visit the building and sent pictures from the 124th floor and that is so high.  Eeva also informed us of a weird fact, The Burj Khalifa has very primitive sewage system. So when you go for a poop some unfortunate person has to shovel it out of the bottom into a truck then drive it out of the city to a treatment plant. It so hard to believe that one of the most advanced buildings in the world would be so primitive. And finally, my favourite part is that there is a huge ski resort inside of the Mall of Emirates. The good part for the parents is there is a warm lounge all the way around the resort so they don’t have to sit in the cold.

Eeva went  “dune bashing” through the desert and she really liked it. She described  as a sandy roller coaster.

Eeva really liked Dubai, she saw Tanoura dancers. They had really cool costumes that lit up when they danced.

Eeva loved Dubai she would go back if she got the chance.
